The Annual Shad Festival held every Blue Monday (the 1st Monday after Easter) at Lock & Dam # 1 in East Arcadia, North Carolina originated in the East Arcadia Community by several descendants of William & Sarah Jacobs-Graham. Some of these descendants were Chester Graham Sr. (1915-1992), Bernard Carter (1920-1989) and Archie Thomas Graham (1916-1998).
